Add every bed you plan to plant this season, pick the crop for each, and get the total number of plants you need to buy or start.
How it’s figured
Each bed uses a square grid: plants per row = floor(length in inches ÷ crop spacing), rows = floor(width in inches ÷ spacing), bed total = per-row × rows. The planner adds up the bed totals by crop and then across all crops. This is honest arithmetic only — it does not predict yield, and crops that underperform or get eaten by pests may need replacements. Spacing values come from the shared Pot and Plot crop dataset (typical ranges).
