Garden Savings Calculator

Everything you spent: soil, seeds, transplants, water, gear. Your total from the budget calculator works great here.

What you harvested

Harvest value$0.00
Garden costs$0.00
Net savings$0.00

Add your costs and at least one harvest above to see where you landed.

Read this honestly: this is a guesstimate — it ignores your labor and the taste premium of a tomato that never saw a truck. A red number doesn’t mean the garden failed; it means you paid for freshness, exercise, and really good salsa.

How it’s figured

We don’t know what groceries cost where you live, so every price is yours: check your grocery receipt or the shelf tag for the store price per pound. Harvest value is the sum of (pounds harvested × your store price per pound) across every crop you enter. Net savings is harvest value minus your total garden costs. Pounds you gave away still count — somebody ate them instead of buying them.
